So, we had a baby !
by passwordprotected ini'm delighted to say our latest addition to the family, fergus keir hunter, was born on saturday morning - 6.06am - weighing in at 6lbs 12oz.
mum and baby are both doing very well.
our other two kids are very pleased, cameron in particular; he's now got the wee brother he's always wanted.. i twittered throughout the pregnancy and you can find the 'tweets' here.. .

Unfortunately HB in their fantastic work off of the 80's " Treasoning from the Scriptures" they have that base covered, check this out. page 309

John 10:16: “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those also I must bring, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd.” (These “other sheep” come under the loving care of Jesus Christ while the remnant of the “little flock” of Kingdom heirs is still on earth; thus the “other sheep” can be associated with the Kingdom heirs as part of the “one flock.” They all enjoy many of the same benefits from Jesus’ sacrifice, but not identically so, because they have different destinies.)It seems incredible to me that the fds devote SEVEN whole pages to their discussion of the ransom in this book WITHOUT mentioning the Last supper or ANY of the relevant scriptures that speak of partaking of the flesh and blood of Jesus, and absolutely NO MENTION of 1 Tim 2;5 which says that Jesus is our mediator (i. e. all mankind who accept the sacrafice). Also NO MENTION of the NEW COVENANT. They have reduced the whole subject to a discussion of the origins of sin, and why we need the Ransom , and crucially leave THE ONE PAGE OF THE INSTUCTIONS that you need to finish the project.
Right at the end however is the rub.

What is required of us in order to benefit lastingly from Jesus perfect sacrafice?
John 3;36 "he that excercises faith in the son has everlasting life"
so far so good......biblically accurate and simple.....
Next question on page 311 "treasoning from the scriptures"
What effect should this provision have on how we use our lives?
titus 2; 13,14 " Christ Jesus ......gave himself for us that he might deliver us from every sort of lawlessness and cleanse for himself a people peculiarly his own , zealous for fine works" (Appreciation for this marvelous provision should move us to have a zealous share in those works that Christ assigned to his true followers)
VERY, VERY clever. A scripture that speaks of the ransom AND works in the same context! Almost like u need to show the works to benefit.
Wow , so that verse is really telling us that if we really apppreciate what Jesus did then we will do the works that he assigned us to? Sounds suspiciously like the parable of the faithful slave that he also "assigned".
The verse says that the people for himself (not Jehovah, strange..) would already BE zealous for fine works. But what they want you to take from the verse is that it's those works which are really the key.... Yes the Wts works program. And "Jesus true followers"?....Jehovah's Witnesses.They are the ones who have the knowledge and the appreciation and the works to go with it.
Surely the most appreciative act a person could do would be to accept the Ransom or new covenant which the wts seem to think are two separate
things.
Pray to God,
put faith in and believe in Jesus,
ask for your sins to be forgiven,
and show you want to be his brother by sharing the Lord's meal when you get the chance.
Na, too simple , and not enough works for my liking. And you can keep your bread and wine.....

Yeah well the die hard element will always keep trooping on ,feeling that they are being "faithfull"
Once they realise the gb are slowly taking the doctrinal carpet from under their feet they will have to readjust. all the old dates are getting slowly dismantled and there's no new one's in the future....let the cult collapse I say.

Thing is password that they could argue about who gets to take it among their numbers all day but what does the bible say?
1Tim 2,5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus,"
In other word s Jesus said that no one can come to the father unless it's through him...Why him ?cos he provided the way to redemtion, a relationship with God , through guess what ? THE NEW COVENANT!
I'll bet that a very large percentage of Jw's don't even know the function of it. They've been told that you don't need it , ur not anointed, and Jesus is not their mediator. He's only allowed to do it for the 10,000 or so anointed within jw ranks. and yet the above scripture shows that it's the only option , not as the G.B. say one need only hang around with the remnant to attain eternal life with of course no scriptures to back it up.
It's like any good confidence trick, you only realise what you have just had stolen from you when it's too late. Except in this case it's not a spiv at your door with geasy hair and a pinstripe suit. It's " the greatest corporation in the woirild" that's scammed you. ( ok they may have used the guy in the suit to make contact.)

Well elsewhere it was all apparently sanctioned by the whole body of elders....kind of makes you wonder if they're right in the head. My bro told me there were "several" under the radar ppl in the local cong that were ranging from doubters to outright apostates. I'm guessing that after their little demo some of the ones on the doubt end of the spectrum might have went home to check on the net what the folk at the other end of the spectrum have been saying!! talk about rifling one in the back of your own goal......

My Brother who is an elder took part in a demo during a service meeting local needs talk just at the end of last year.. I've never heard of that happening during all my time in the org. The talk was to warn publishers in our congregation against having conversations with suspected apostates that could destroy their faith.
The two elders then had what amounted to an apostate monologue!! , mentioning date setting like 1975 and other things that the apostates say. I have had many conversations with him which expressed these views and I considered the item to be directed to me. I thought at the time that it was possible he was using some kind of semaphore and that he was trying to alert others. Sadly it wasn't the case, but maybe it hit some nerves for some in the audience...
